Hi, I'm Steve.

I was born with a camera in my hands. Well maybe not exactly, but it seems that way. For most of my life I was more interested in nature photography. Then I began photographing theater to document shows I lit. When the actors actors told me they like my photographs better than the ones taken by the "professional" photographer, I decided to take photography more seriously. I took classes at the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan to learn the basics, and then I began working with local models, photographing events for my company, and photographing family functions just to practice.

Then one Wednesday, my manager asked me if I was doing anything that Saturday. His son was getting married and did not have photographer, and asked if I would fill in. I did. I loved it. And I knew from that point on, this was what I wanted to do.

I love the whole process, from the first meeting with potential clients, all the way though delivering the wedding book. I think people really respond to the passion I have for what I do.

Here are a number of slide shows from different weddings: http://cihanek.com/sample-wedding
